MIRANDA WIDGERY-WEBBER
RAD RTS

Miranda was Classically trained in Ballet and the Performing Arts at many schools internationally & throughout Canada including the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, the prestigious Hammond School (England) and the Royal Academy of Dance, (England) where she achieved a Certificate in Dance Education and Registered Teacher Status. Miranda is the Artistic Director and Head Of Ballet at Perform Art Studios and The BC Dance Academic School. She also works as a Teacher Training Mentor for the Royal Academy of Dance Teacher Training Program. Miranda’s students have been accepted to American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet School, London Studio Centre and London Contemporary Dancers to name a few! Miranda has taught and choreographed in England, U.S.A. & Hong Kong giving her an immense international background and wealth of knowledge in Ballet and Dance Education.

DEANNA PETERS
Contemporary

Deanna has performed in contemporary dance, theatre and film, working with Barbara Bourget, Bunting Dance, Justine A. Chambers, Peter Chin, Bill Coleman, Co. Erasga, Daniel Conrad, Paul-André Fortier, Karen Jamieson Dance, Kinesis Dance Soma Theatro, Kokoro Dance Theatre, Diego Maranan, Mascall Dance, Proximity Arts/Tanya Marquardt, Julia Sasso and The Story of Force and Motion. Deanna balances her career as a performer with work as a choreographer, teacher and producer. She has created 15 dance works ranging in length from 1–50mins, co-created a duet with Justine A. Chambers, co-created a play with Tanya Marquardt and co-produced six group shows. Deanna’s works have been presented by New Dance Horizons, SFU Woodward’s, Mascall Dance, Expanse Movement Arts Festival, Dance Saskatchewan, Series 8:08, Twelve Minutes Max and twice at Dances For A Small Stage. She has been commissioned to create works for Arts Umbrella, Dance Saskatchewan and The Story of Force and Motion. Deanna is an active contemporary dance teacher with credits throughout Western Canada. She works as a producer for Mascall Dance and programs classes and manages the website for The Training Society of Vancouver/Working Class. Deanna also does design work for dance and theatre companies.

EDMOND KILPATRICK
Ballet

Edmond is an independent dancer, teacher and choreographer based in Vancouver. A graduate of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School his dance career began in Montreal with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Edmond moved to Vancouver and danced with many local and national contemporary choreographers. This led to him joining Ballet BC where he remained for 9 seasons. He is once again working independently and has recently been seen in his own work as well as with Wen Wei Dance and the Vancouver Opera.
Edmond has taught his Boys Only program at Arts Umbrella for the last 9 years is a regular teacher for the dancers at Ballet BC and recently taught a semester at SFU. He has taught both ballet and contemporary dance extensively since 1994 teaching both young students and professional dancers. He has choreographed for both stage and film.

HILARY BOURDON
Ballet

Hilary’s dance training is rooted in Classical Ballet from recognized professional companies such as the Alberta Ballet Co. Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet where she danced Ballet repertoire such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Fernand Noults’ ‘Carmina Burrana’ and Ballanchines, ‘Conerto Barrocco” Hilary also has danced extensively as a Modern Dancer, initially at Grant McEwan College, and later at York University and Toronto Dance Theatre. Her Modern Dance training includes Graham technique, Lamonde, and other dance forms such as Cunningham and Release Techniques. As a Modern Dancer, Hilary has worked with influential Canadian Modern Dance pioneers such as David Earle, Patricia Beaty, Maria Formolo, Jean Louis Morin, Pat Miner and Peggy Baker.

YOSHI HISANAGA Yoshi Hisanaga, Indusrty dance training programs of vancouver
Urban Styles

Yoshi is a versatile and innovative Hiphop dancer/ bboy who brings a fresh and energetic flavor to dance where ever he goes. Yoshi is a passionate teacher who believes in passing down his knowledge to the next generation and giving back to the Vancouver hiphop dance community. He focuses on hip-hop basics and fundamentals, the important hiphop steps and foundation grooves. His passion and dedication to the art can be seen performing or battling with his crews Over the Influence and Rhythm Recall. He is an award winning choreographer who specializes in a unique and abstract blend of hip-hop and break dancing. He also embraces the competitive element of hiphop. He represented Canada at the Hip-hop International Championships in the summer of 2007 in L.A and 2008 in Vegas. He is also the recent winner of the World of Dance Vancouver Hiphop battle.

SARAH SUTHERLAND
Contemporary

Sarah, originally from Vancouver Island, began her dance training at a young age. Sarah continued her training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she graduated with a B.F.A. in Fine Arts. At University, Sarah focused her training on Contemporary, Choreography, Performance and Teaching. After dancing for Holland America Cruise Lines, Sarah moved to England where she spent 5 years performing and teaching throughout the UK in various genres including Contemporary, Physical Theatre, Children’s Dance Theatre, Opera and Film. Upon returning to B.C., she co-founded CollabArt Creations, a contemporary dance company focused on collaborating with artists of various disciplines. Sarah is also a certified Hatha Yoga instructor. Sarah is thrilled to be sharing her passion and experience.
